RickXam

FAQ

Questions people ask

When does it launch?+
A pilot with 30 students runs in February 2027. RickXam opens to everyone in March 2027, ahead of the May–June exams.
Does RickXam teach, or just test?+
It teaches. You try each topic first, and if you slip, you pick how to learn it: step by step, a real-life problem, spotting the mistake, or moving the graph or shape yourself. Then you practise, with every step of your working marked. See How it works.
Will I pass if I use RickXam?+
Getting you a pass is what it's built for. You learn each topic the way that clicks, practise until your working is right, and always know what to work on next. No one can honestly promise you a pass, so we won't, but we'll share how the pilot students do.
Can I try it before it opens?+
Yes. The Try it page has eleven questions from all three modules of the 2027 syllabus that work the way they will in the app.
Is it AI?+
No. At launch, every question, hint and worked solution is written in advance and checked, and your answers are marked by code. There's no chatbot, and no student data goes to an AI service.
Which subjects does it cover?+
CSEC Mathematics only, for now. Questions are organised by the CSEC Maths syllabus objectives.
How does step marking work?+
Structured questions are split into steps, like an examiner's mark scheme. You write a line of working for each step, for example 3x = 12, and RickXam gives a method mark for the working and an accuracy mark for the answer. If a step is wrong, you see which one and why, and you get a nudge to fix it yourself.
Will it do my SBA?+
No. RickXam teaches and helps you practise. It never writes SBAs, projects or any graded work.
Do I need to download an app?+
No. It runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer.
How much will it cost?+
There'll be a free plan with a few questions a day. Paid plans add unlimited practice, step marking and progress tracking. We're setting prices with the families on the waitlist. See Pricing.
What do you do with my details?+
We use them only to tell you about the pilot and launch, and to decide what to build. We never sell them. Read the privacy page, or email hello@rickxam.com to have them deleted.
Is RickXam part of CXC?+
No. RickXam is independent. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the Caribbean Examinations Council.
